The person who leads a Jewish congregation in chanting and singing prayer. ("Hazzan" in Hebrew.) Spiritual leader and teacher. Typically, but not always, leads a congregation. A holiday commemorating the receiving of the Torah on Mount Sinai, it is also known as the Feast of Weeks, as it comes seven weeks after Passover begins. An international program that sends thousands of young Jews to Israel each year for free.
